Sport Climbing

Sport Climbing - Strength, Skill, and Vertical Adventure
Introduction
Sport climbing is a fast-growing, adrenaline-filled sport that challenges athletes to scale artificial or natural walls using strength, flexibility, balance, and problem-solving. It combines athleticism with mental strategy, as climbers plan each move while dealing with gravity and time pressure.
Recently added to the Olympic Games, sport climbing has surged in popularity, drawing a new generation of climbers from all around the world. It is not only a competitive sport but also a lifestyle and a form of self-expression for many.
How the Games is Played
Sport climbing includes three main disciplines, often combined in competition formats:
Lead Climbing – Climbers scale a tall wall (usually 15–20 meters) with a rope and clip into protection as they go. The goal is to reach the top or the highest hold before time runs out.
Bouldering – Involves climbing short but intense routes (called problems) on a low wall without ropes, but with crash mats. Focus is on power, creativity, and problem-solving.
Speed Climbing – A race against the clock on a standardized 15-meter vertical wall. Two climbers go head-to-head; the fastest to the top wins.
Each style demands a unique combination of power, technique, agility, and mental control.

Key Rules & Scoring
Lead Climbing: Points are awarded for the highest hold reached. Falling before clipping reduces the score.
Bouldering: Scored by number of problems solved, number of attempts, and whether the climber reached the “zone” hold.
Speed Climbing: First to the top wins; times are recorded in seconds.
In Olympic combined events, climbers compete in all three disciplines, and their ranking in each is multiplied to determine a final score — lowest total wins.
Major Events
Sport climbing now features in several major global competitions:
Olympic Games – Debuted in Tokyo 2020 and featured in Paris 2024 with a new format.
IFSC Climbing World Cup – Annual series for lead, bouldering, and speed.
IFSC World Championships – Held every two years.
Youth World Championships – Showcases rising talent from around the globe.

About The App
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book.
It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
