Squash -The High-Speed Indoor Racket Sport

Introduction

Squash is a fast-paced, high-intensity indoor sport played with rackets and a small rubber ball. Known for its incredible cardio workout, quick reflexes, and strategic play, squash is a favorite among fitness lovers and competitive athletes alike.

Played in over 180 countries, squash is recognized for its intense rallies, agility, and skill. Though it’s not yet an Olympic sport (as of now), it has a huge global following and is featured in major international competitions.

How the Games is Played

Squash is played between two players (singles) or four players (doubles) inside a four-walled court. The players take turns hitting the ball against the front wall, making sure it bounces only once on the floor before their opponent returns it.

Basic Gameplay:
  • Serve from one of two service boxes.

  • After the serve, the ball must hit the front wall before bouncing.

  • Players can use side and back walls to create angles and challenge opponents.

  • The point continues until one player fails to return the ball legally.

A match is typically best of 3 or 5 games, and each game is played to 11 points, with players needing a 2-point lead to win.

Key Rules & Positions

  • The ball must be hit before it bounces twice.

  • Players must make every effort to avoid blocking their opponent’s shot.

  • Interference can lead to a “let” (replay of point) or a “stroke” (point awarded).

  • Common Strokes:

    • Drive – Straight shot to the back of the court.

    • Boast – A shot that hits the side wall before the front wall.

    • Drop shot – A soft shot that lands just above the tin near the front.

    • Lob – A high, slow shot to the back corners.

About The App

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book.

It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
