Shinty

Shinty - Scotland’s Fierce Highland Sport
Introduction
Shinty is a traditional team sport from Scotland, known for its speed, skill, and physical intensity. Played mainly in the Highlands, it shares similarities with Irish hurling but has its own unique set of rules and style.
Dating back centuries, shinty was originally used to help warriors train in the winter. Today, it is a proudly preserved part of Scottish cultural heritage, played at amateur level with a passionate following.
How the Games is Played
Shinty is played outdoors on a grass pitch by two teams of 12 players each. Players use a curved stick called a “caman” to strike a small ball, aiming to score goals by sending the ball into the opponent’s net.
Basic Gameplay:
The ball can be played along the ground or in the air.
Players can use both sides of the caman and control the ball with their stick and body (but not hands or arms).
Physical play is allowed, but within limits — shoulder-to-shoulder contact is permitted.

Key Rules & Positions
Goalkeeper: The only player allowed to use hands (within the goal area).
Defenders & Midfielders: Help move the ball up the pitch while protecting their own goal.
Forwards: Primary scorers who work to break through the defense.
No tripping or holding.
Only shoulder challenges are allowed (no body slams).
The caman must not be swung dangerously.

About The App
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book.
It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
