Taekwondo -The Art of Kicking and Punching
Introduction
Taekwondo is a dynamic Korean martial art known for its high-flying kicks, powerful strikes, and strong sense of discipline. The word Taekwondo roughly translates to “the way of the foot and the hand”, reflecting its emphasis on kicking techniques combined with hand strikes and blocks.
Taekwondo is more than just self-defense—it’s a sport, philosophy, and way of life. It promotes physical fitness, mental strength, respect, and perseverance. Practiced worldwide, Taekwondo became an official Olympic sport in the 2000 Sydney Games and continues to gain popularity globally.
How the Games is Played
In a competitive Taekwondo match, two opponents face off in a ring, trying to score points by landing kicks and punches on each other’s scoring zones—primarily the torso and head.
Basic Competition Format:
A match consists of 3 rounds of 2 minutes each, with short breaks in between.
Points are awarded for:
Valid kicks to the torso or head.
Spinning kicks earn higher points.
Punches to the torso also score.
The fighter with the most points at the end of the match wins, or a knockout can end the match earlier.

About The App
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book.
It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
