Weightlifting

Weightlifting -The Ultimate Test of Strength and Technique
Introduction
Weightlifting is a power-packed Olympic sport that showcases the strength, speed, and precision of athletes as they lift heavy barbells above their heads. It’s not just about brute force — it requires explosive power, perfect timing, and flawless form.
This sport has ancient roots and has been a part of the modern Olympic Games since 1896. Today, it’s practiced by men and women around the world, and it continues to evolve in terms of performance, safety, and popularity.
How the Games Are Played
In Olympic-style weightlifting, athletes compete in two main lifts:
Snatch – The lifter lifts the barbell from the ground to overhead in one continuous motion.
Clean and Jerk – A two-part lift: first, the barbell is brought to the shoulders (clean), then lifted overhead (jerk).
Each athlete gets three attempts in each lift, and the best successful attempt from each is added together for a total score. The athlete with the highest total in their weight category wins.

Key Rules & Categories
Weight Classes:
Competitors are divided into weight categories to ensure fairness. Men and women have different classes based on body weight.
Basic Rules:
Lifts must be completed within a time limit (usually 1 minute after being called).
The lift must be performed with proper form — locked elbows, controlled motion, no stepping off the platform.
Three referees judge each lift. At least two white lights are needed for a successful lift.
Lifters must wear approved gear, including weightlifting shoes, a singlet, and sometimes a belt or wrist wraps.

About The App
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book.
It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
